Marvel at the dramatic tides of the Bay of Fundy

During a tour of Canada, travelers can see one of the world's most interesting natural attractions when they visit the Bay of Fundy, a body of water known for its dramatic tides.

Situated on the southern coast of the province of New Brunswick, the bay is famous for its twice-daily cycle of tides, with the difference between the high and low water mark reaching as much as 52 feet. By spending an entire day here, tourists can get a sense of how amazing this natural phenomenon truly is.

The best place to experience the tides of the Bay of Fundy is the Hopewell Rocks, a cluster of stone formations carved from seaside cliffs by the forces of erosion. Thanks to the rapid flow of large volumes of water in and out of the bay, stone promontories have been separated from the main cliffs, making them appear to be towers with trees living on top. This unusual appearance has led them to be nicknamed the "Flower Pots," as they resemble the terra cotta planters used in gardens.
