See artifacts from ancient history at the Egyptian Museum
Ancient Egypt was one of the most intriguing and mysterious civilizations the world has ever known, and travelers on a tour of Egypt can learn more about the empire's culture and history by visiting the esteemed Egyptian Museum.
Located in the heart of the capital of Cairo, the museum is home to more than 120,000 artifacts from ancient Egypt. Although the entire collection is never displayed at once, visitors to the attraction can still check out a representative sample when they spend a day perusing the items set out for the public to see.
One of the museum's most popular exhibits is the Royal Mummy Room, which holds numerous mummies of pharaohs from the New Kingdom era. Famous items on display include the mummy of Queen Hatshepsut and the death mask of King Tutankhamen, which has become a symbol of Egyptian history.
In addition to the mummies and the treasures of King Tutankhamen's tomb, visitors to the Egyptian Museum can also see artifacts like papyrus, coins, statues, tables, sarcophagi and more.
