Visit Innes National Park in Australia
Travelers on Australia tours will consistently find that the land down under does not lack for attractions, sights and fun things to do. Innes National Park is one such attraction and is located on the southern tip of Yorke Peninsula near Cape Spencer.
The park contains a whole host of impressive sights. One of the most spectacular is the shipwreck of the Ethel, a 700-plus ton ship that ran aground on the peninsula in 1904. Today, the last fragments of its hull can be seen protruding from the sands, providing travelers a remarkable - and slightly haunting - vision. Another ruin is the Inneston Historic Site, memorializing a mining community that became a ghost town after 1930.
Innes National Park is home to various camp sites, so travelers can stay overnight when visiting the visually stunning cliffs, coastline and rolling waves that distinguish the area. Pondalowie and Cable Bay are two of the notable campsites, offering sights and amenities including easy beach access, gas grills for barbecuing food, and easily seen kangaroos.
An Australia vacation contains countless worthwhile natural attractions worth seeing. Twelve of these have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites as of 2011, ranging from the Great Barrier Reef to the Wet Tropics of Queensland, among various others.
