Fun-filled entertainment in Lorne
Travelers on southern Australia tours often find themselves zipping along the windy turns of the Great Ocean Road. Visitors wanting a substantive stop with fine dining and entertainment options will find what they are looking for in the town of Lorne.
Set among the bush, the giant pine trees of Lorne make way for excellent seaside drinking establishments and eateries. From deluxe vegetarian fare of immense tofu burgers, to refreshing Greek cuisine, to upscale pub food, many of Lorne’s dining options will leave your taste buds in delight. As many Lorne restaurants also feature live music, your ear drums might leave happily buzzing as well.
The sculpture garden/cafe/art gallery called Qdos is also a fine stop, and has a near endless supply of entertainment. With multiple art classes and several live music and theater productions each week, travelers will almost always find something interesting at Qdos.
Unrefined activities are found in Lorne State Park, located in the hills just behind town. At the park, travelers move through actual fern gullies to some of the area’s most amazing waterfalls, including the majestic Erskine Falls. With emu, kangaroo and other wildlife abounding, the area is a great way to spend a few hours. Those short on time can take in all of Lorne’s fun-filled splendor from Teddy Lookout.
