Itinerary

Day 1 Seattle

Transfer using a local taxi. Please note that this is not included in trip price and is payable locally.

Curved around the shores of Elliott Bay, with Lake Washington behind, and the snowy peak of Mount Rainier hovering faintly in the distance, stands the City of Seattle. The insistently modern skyline of glass skyscrapers gleams across the bay, an emblem of three decades of aggressive urban renewal. Much of modern Seattle began in 1962 with the World’s Fair. It helped spark the creation of the Space Needle, the Seattle Center, the Coliseum, and other local landmarks.

Depending on your arrival time you may want to set out to explore the many distinct sights and sounds of this magnificent city. Tonight, enjoy a sumptuous dinner at acclaimed Andaluca Restaurant. This nationally recognized culinary oasis resonats with the romance of the Mediterranean. Its food and design have been a winning combination since 1996; throughout the handsome space, mahogany mill work, hand painted murals and plush, deep-toned fabrics work together to conjure up a sun baked Mediterranean grotto.

The historic Mayflower Park Hotel (3.5*) is ideally located in thriving downtown Seattle. Built in 1927, the classic Mayflower Park Hotel has been lovingly restored with crystal chandeliers, gleaming brass and period antiques that offer an inviting European elegance. The hotel is ideally situated steps away from Seattle’s most exciting attractions, including the famous Pike Place Market, Seattle Waterfront, and Space Needle. The elegantly appointed Mayflower Park Hotel features the award winning, Mediterranean restaurant, Andaluca as well as Oliver’s Lounge, a popular bar famous for its martinis and classic cocktails. Guestrooms are beautifully appointed in classic color schemes with custom comforters, drapes and artwork designed and tailored for each room. Other amenities include room service, full-service concierge, and a fitness center.

Overnight at Mayflower Park Hotel (3.5*) (B) (Standard (2 Queen Bed)).

Day 2 Seattle

Start your day by having breakfast at the hotel and get ready for an active day experiencing the sights, sounds, and flavors of Seattle. This morning, promptly at 10:00am, you will take part on a behind the scenes adventure through famed Pike Place Market. Follow an expert guide through the hustle and bustle of this public market to the "classic" spots that have made it a world-famous destination. See fish fly, cheese being made by hand, and the original Starbucks store! Pair classic Seattle foods with animated stories and history of this 101-year old culinary landmark and you will get an unforgettable experience. The 2-hour walking tour includes samples of over 10 different foods.

The rest of the day is yours to enjoy all this city has to offer. In the afternoon, visit the Olympic Sculpture Park on the Seattle Waterfront. Located just minutes from the market, this park features over twenty groundbreaking, large-scale sculptures in an awe-inspiring outdoor setting offering views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains. Also nearby is the Seattle Center, home of the Space Needle. Take an elevator ride to the 520-foot high observation deck; explore the Experience Music Project, Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, play in interactive exhibits at the Pacific Science Center or stroll around the many other attractions and cultural institutions within the center. In the evening, you may want to take a dinner cruise along Puget Sound with views of the twinkling lights of downtown Seattle.
