The Central US includes the Rocky Mountains, Southwest, Great Plains and Midwest - a great swath that ranges from desert to mountains, big city to cowboy ranch, natural beauty to big city glitter. Rocky Mountains is packed with spectacular natural parks (Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and more), exclusive mountain resorts (Aspen, Vail, Jackson Hole), and man-made history (Durango and Mesa Verde). The Southwest contrasts between glitzy new cities (Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Tucson) and spectacular natural attractions (Grand Canyon, Arches National Park, and Carlsbad Caverns) with Mexican influenced towns like Santa Fe and Taos. Great Plains is a vast stretch of grassland stretching from Mexico, through Texas (Dallas, Austin, San Antonio), all the way north into Canada. Midwest is anchored by Chicago and Detroit on the shores of the Great Lakes, and goes south through steel towns and farmland to St. Louis on the great Mississippi river.
