Itinerary

Day 1 Jekyll Island

Includes daily car rental.

Arrive at Jekyll Island Club and set out on foot to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center* for an exciting and educational visit depending on your arrival day and time. This rehabilitation, research, and educational facility is very much like an emergency room for injured and sick turtles. Here you get to see the various “patients” that are in rehabilitation and find out about their injuries and illnesses. Learn about the development of sea turtles from eggs all the way through adulthood from a knowledgeable volunteer guide.

Afternoon tea is included and served from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, at the Grand Dining Room and the Riverview Lounge, simultaneously.

The Jekyll Island Club Hotel (4*) is a National Historic Landmark located on Jekyll Island off Georgia's historic southeastern coast. This is a non-smoking and eco friendly property. Amenities include three restaurants, snackbar, deli, limited room service, pool/beach bar, cocktail lounge, live entertainment, business center, meeting/banquet facilities, shopping arcade, gift shop, newsstand, concierge, safe-deposit at front desk and dry clean/laundry service. Recreational facilities include a outdoor, heated swimming pool, lighted tennis courts, a 63-hole golf course, putting green, fitness center, spa services, and full-service marina. Sporting amenities include, horseback riding, croquet, charter fishing and miniature golf. Complimentary daily newspaper is provided.

Day 2 Jekyll Island

This morning, after having a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, pick up your rental bike and set out to explore the island by following one or more of the routes marked in the island map. For the next five hours you can choose to bike through the South or North Loop, the scenic Ocean View Route, the Historic District, or the Golf Course Route. If you have not visited the Sea Turtle Center, make sure you make it one of your stops along your route today.

A tour of the Historic District has been prearranged for the afternoon. Tours depart sharply at 1:00 and 3:00 pm. Hop aboard the tram for a full 90-minute tour hosted by the Jekyll Island Museum. This tour includes entry into two of the area cottages filled with rich tales and elegant furnishings.

  • Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $250). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order.
  • Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
  • Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
  • Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
  • Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of deposit. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
