Day 1
Anchorage Anchorage is the largest city in Alaska, located in the South-central region. Downtown is the historic core of the city located at the northwestern tip next to the waterfront; home to most of the tourist activities, gift stores, hotels, and the railroad depot. Attractions in town include the Alaska Native Heritage Center, Wildlife Conservation Center, and Museum of History and Art. Nearby there is excellent wildlife viewing, skiing, and walking and biking. Meet your driver for a private airport transfer. Located in the heart downtown Anchorage, the Hilton Anchorage (4*) stands out for its convenience and comfort. Day 2
Anchorage Meet your driver for a guided tour of Anchorage, Alaskas largest city. Full of interesting sites, picturesque scenery, and history, Anchorage makes for a great half-day tour. Your tour will pass attractions like the Log Cabin Visitor Center, the Alaska Railroad Depot, and the Museum of Art & History. Visit Resolution Park and the Captain Cook Monument as well as Ship Creek Viewpoint, which overlooks Cook Inlet. Dinner at leisure (not included in tour price). Overnight at Hilton Anchorage (4*). |

Day 3
Denali National Park and Preserve Denali National Park and Preserve is located in Interior Alaska and contains Denali (Mount McKinley), the highest mountain in North America. The park and preserve together cover 9,492 mi² (24,585 km²). Denali is home to a variety of Alaskan birds and mammals, including a healthy population of grizzly bears and black bears. Herds of caribou roam throughout the park. Dall sheep are often seen on mountainsides, and moose feed on the aquatic plants of the small lakes and swamps. Despite human impact on the area, Denali accommodates gray wolf dens, both historic and active. Smaller animals, such as hoary marmots, arctic ground squirrels, beavers, pikas, and snowshoe hares are seen in abundance. Foxes, martens, lynx, wolverines also inhabit the park, but are more rarely seen due to their elusive natures. Anchorage to Denali distance: 237mi/379km/5 hrs driving without stops. This morning meet private driver guide. Then you will head north of Anchorage, towards Denali. You will pass through the Matanuska-Susitna Valley which is considered one of the most important agricultural areas in Alaska. The valley is rimmed by three major mountain ranges: the Alaska Range, the Talkeetna and the Chugach Mountains. The surrounding mountains include many mountain passes, as well as working and abandoned gold mines. At 6 million acres, Denali National Park is one of the world’s largest great frontiers for wilderness adventure. Most of the visitor amenities and park services are located at the park’s entrance. Day 4
Denali National Park and Preserve Early this morning you will depart on a bus tour into the heart of Denali National Park. This is your best opportunity to view and photograph wildlife such as moose, caribou, Dall sheep, and grizzly bears. Weather permitting you will get a glimpse of the majestic mountain. Once you arrive at the end of the road, an area called Kantishna you will be provided with a nice sit down lunch. In the afternoon you will take a scenic bush plane flight, by Mt McKinley back to the park entrance (private flight, approx. 55 minutes long). (If the weather does not allow the flight, then you will take the bus back to the park entrance. If you take the bus back, you will return to the park entrance around 6 or 7pm). Day 5
Talkeetna Talkeetna is a village in Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska, United States. Talkeetna is located at the confluence of three rivers, the Susitna, Chulitna and Talkeetna. The core downtown area is classified as a National Historic Site. Talkeetna's largest celebration of the winter, called Winterfest, takes place during the entire month of December, and features a motorized Parade of Lights, a lighted tree in the Village Park, and the Taste of Talkeetna. Today you will depart Denali National Park for your journey to Talkeetna. Historic Talkeetna is best known as the jumping-off point for Mount McKinley climbing expeditions. Given clear weather, views of the mountain from this perspective are breathtaking. Upon arrival you will have the rest of the day to explore on your own or participate in optional activities. Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge (4*) is set on a ridge above the small community of Talkeetna on the south side of Mt. McKinley. Built atop a high bluff, the lodge overlooks the Susitna River Valley and surveys the entire Alaska Range, with Mt. McKinley right in the middle. This lodge offers unforgettable views of Mt. Day 6
Anchorage This morning you will travel south through the Matanuska-Susitna Valley to Anchorage. Before arriving in Anchorage you will stop in Willow to visit the Iditarod musher Vern Halter and his kennel of race champions. During your visit you will learn about the famous Iditarod Sled dog race, experience a fun dog team ride (on ground, not sled/snow), and get to know the dogs. After lunch you will continue your journey Anchorage. Services of private guide ends upon arrival in Anchorage at approx. 6pm. Overnight at Hilton Anchorage (4*). |

- Your non-refundable deposit is due immediately on booking (50% of program price, minimum $250). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order. Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary.Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client. Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
- Cancellations 90 days or more prior to departure will be subject to loss of deposit. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 75% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
