Day 1
Waikiki Waikiki is a neighborhood of Honolulu, in the City and County of Honolulu, on the south shore of the island of Oahu, in Hawaii. Waikiki Beach is the shoreline fronting Waikiki. Waikiki is home to public places including Kapiolani Park, Fort de Russy Military Reservation, Kahanamoku Lagoon, Kuhio Beach Park, and Ala Wai Harbor. The neighborhood extends from the Ala Wai Canal (a channel dug to drain former wetlands) on the west and north, to Diamond Head (Leahi) on the east. Waikiki Beach is noted for its views of the Diamond Head tuff cone, its usually warm and cloud-free climate and its surf break. The Waikiki skyline is now dotted with an abundance of both high-rises and resort hotels. The beach is actually fairly short, with half of it marked off for surfers. For some distance into the ocean the water is quite shallow, although there are numerous rocks on the bottom. As with most ocean beaches the waves can have some force, particularly on windy days. The surf at Waikiki is known for its long rolling break, making it ideal for long boarding, tandem surfing and beginners. Enjoy a private sedan airport transfer with meet and greet service and a lei greeting! You will be provided with a pre-departure package which will include all necessary information that you will need for your trip including materials such as vouchers, maps, train tickets (if relevant) etc. Be brought back 100 years and 27 miles from Waikiki to an exclusive beach front property on the shores of West Oahu to experience a luau greeting followed by a wonderful dinner (included) on a shared late afternoon tour. The fun begins the moment you are picked up by friendly hosts from one of many convenient locations in Waikiki. Thirty “Hawaiian” minutes seem to pass quickly as you are entertained with songs, laughter, and lots of “Aloha Spirit” while riding in a comfortable, air-conditioned motor coach. Upon arrival at the beach front property in question, a great buffet dinner featuring an array of tasty Hawaiian and American selections is presented to you for your pleasure and is sure to please. After dinner, the night is filled with beauty, color, and excitement as the multi-talented kane (men) and wahine (women) take you on a non-stop, musical journey throughout the islands of Polynesia. (Three cocktails are included with unlimited soft drinks). At the end of the evening, you will be brought back to a central point in Waikiki. Formerly a boutique hotel known as the Wyland Waikiki, the Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach (3*) boasts a style that can be best described as “Island Chic.” From the rattan and dark-wood furnishings to the sage and cream color scheme to the ocean-themed artwork hanging in every room, it all contributes to the distinctive take on the tropical atmosphere you come to Hawaii to find. Overnight at Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach (3*). |
