Have you ever dreamed of jet setting across the US in a private plane? This itinerary is the best way to get the most of your time in the Northeastern States and Niagara Falls. On this tour you will avoid train and bus terminals, skip long international airport lines - instead you will hub-hop in a chartered jet and pick up a rental car in each city to give you the outmost freedom to explore the areas with a mix of self-guided and private guided touring.

Explore at your leisure with an accommodation and vehicle rental package that gives you the flexibility and creativity to customize your daily itinerary to your exact preference. Each new airport you arrive in brings a new rental vehicle, and another opportunity to bring you to the places that interest you most. Make your way to Toronto, Canada's megacity, or spend time appreciating the natural beauty and bustling nightlife of Niagara falls, or do both! Taste the sweet chocolate town of Hershey, PA, then go back to a simpler time in Lancaster, VA, where you can venture through the life of Amish country. Experience the nation's capital, Washington, DC, with some sightseeing, or if you'd rather, choose something entirely different and off the beaten path. The options are essentially limitless.

Optional Highlights:
Niagara Park Walkways, Niagara Falls, CN Tower, Lake Ontario, Brocks Monument, Hersheys Chocolate World, Amish Country, Harrisburg, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Korean Memorial, Capitol Hill, The White House, National Museum Of American History, National Air & Space Museum, Arlington Cemetery.

For a more relaxed travel experience, on this trip you will fly between destinations on 30-70 seat turbo-prop aircraft complete with a Flight Hostess. We land at private airport terminals so not only do guests avoid the long security lines and crowds associated with commercial airports, but you can grab a coffee or stop at the restroom in an executive lounge setting.

Itinerary

Day 1 New York City

New York City, the biggest city in the United States, lies at the mouth of the Hudson River in the southern most part of the state, which is part of the Mid-Atlantic region of the USA. New York City consists of five boroughs, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island. Each borough has a unique culture and could be a large city in its own right. Visitors to Manhattan usually divide their time between Downtown (Wall St, Liberty Island ferry, Chinatown, SoHo, East Village), Midtown (Times Square, Theatres, Empire State, 5th Ave stores, Chelsea, Gramercy), and Uptown (Central Park, Upper East Side museums, Harlem, Upper West cafes).

You will be provided with a pre-departure package which will include all necessary information that you will need for your trip including materials such as vouchers, maps, train tickets (if relevant) etc.

Transfer using a local taxi. Please note that this is not included in trip price and is payable locally.

Manhattan - twelve miles long, three miles wide and a world unto itself. Manhattan Island is famous for its “uptown” and “downtown” neighborhoods that can satisfy anyone’s tastes for culture, entertainment and food. No stomach or soul could possibly go hungry in Manhattan. Speak to your travel consultant to ask advice on the best ways to explore New York's various neighbourhoods by foot, by horse and carriage, by taxi or with a private guide.

Take the afternoon to explore the island on your own and seek out your favourite nook of the city:
- Take a stroll through Central Park - stop for an afternoon picnic by the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, hire a boat by the Lake boat house, visit the Zoo and the bird sanctuary, or explore the area by horse and carriage located on the south side of the park near the legendary Plaza Hotel.
- Head South from the Park to Times Square where the bright neon lights never sleep - and who could blame them with all there is to see, do and eat in the area. A tourist magnet for good reason as the area also attracts the best of Broadway talent to the Theatre District. Stop along "Hell's Kitchen" (9th and 10th Avenues) for a fair priced ethnic inspired bite.
- Head to Harlem if you want to explore a historical center of urban African-American culture (above Central from 110th to 145th Street on the East Side and above 125th Street). Stop by the famous Apollo Theatre and grab a bite to eat at the Lenox Lounge.
- Art Lovers, Haute Shoppers and People Waters alike can spend days in the Upper East side (59th Street to 96th Street between 5th and York Avenues). This neighbourhood is home to the top shops like Bloomingdales and Henri Bendel as well, the area houses "Museum Mile" where you will find the Metropolitan Museum of Art , the Guggenheim , the Whitney , the Museum of the City of New York, and the Cooper-Hewitt Museum of Design all within blocks of each other.
-Midtown (42nd Street to 59th Street east of 5th Avenue) is one of the most visited areas of New York - it's fast, crowded and fantastic. Think the Rockefeller Center for skating in the winter, the MoMA for its Pop Art, Saks for its couture, Radio City Music Hall for entertainment and Grand Central for its architectural glory.
-China Town and Little Italy (Grand Street to Chatham Square and from Broadway to beyond the Bowery towards East Broadway) is a vibrant and colorful neighborhood that is one of the most sought after areas for ethnic food and street vendors - we recommend eating your way through it's to notch-cheap restaurants. Walk up Canal Street for all the shopping deals.
-In the recent past the Meatpacking District (West 15th Street, Gansevoort Street and 11th Avenue) was merely an industrial neighbourhood of wholesale meat companies, now it's the 'It' place for trendy boutique hotels, hot lounges and hang outs and the city’s newest top restaurants. Make sure you climb up to the High Line pedestrian path which rests on elevated old rail tracks.
- Greenwich Village or "the Villiage" has kept its bohemian roots with its quaint winding streets, restored townhomes and inviting restaurants. It was historically the centre of New York gay culture and gentrification has led money to the area allowing for a healthy boutique shopping area to be sustained on Bleecker Street. Hit the legendary Blue Note in the evening for live jazz.

The Broadway Tour is an exciting 2 hour walking tour of New York's Theater District. The tour explores not only the history of the Broadway Theater but tells you the backstage stories that make them come alive! Find out what it's really like to be a Broadway actor as you visit these historic theaters and learn their secrets from an Actors perspective - learn about the audition process and hear the behind the scenes story of what it takes to make it in the business. You will discover how Times Square transformed a Horse trading district into the Entertainment Capital of the World!  See how some theaters evolved after the Great Depression to become Radio and Television studios. Find out where the Tonight Show first aired. Walk the edge of notorious Hell's Kitchen and hear how a "Real" West Side Story took place just blocks from the theater in which it was playing. Other highlights include: Shubert Alley, Sardi's, 42nd Street, The Edison Hotel, "Smokey Mary's" church and the George M Cohan statue. As well as many surprises along the way.

The Best Western President Hotel at Times Square is conveniently located within walking distance of many of the city's finest attractions including the Empire State Building, Radio City Music Hall, Today Show and world-famous Museums. Guests can enjoy a peaceful walk through Central Park or a New York Knicks and New York Rangers game at Madison Square Garden. The hotel is just minutes away from Broadway theatres, 5th Avenue shopping and more!

Day 2 New York City

Enjoy a fun, private (3.5hrs) tour lead by local actors and tour New York TV and Movie Sites and straddle fiction and reality as you visit the locations that you’ve seen on both the big and small screens. After being picked up at your hotel in a limo, see the deli from When Harry Met Sally, visit the exterior of Peter Parker’s apartment from Spider-Man, and see the diner from Woody Allen’s Manhattan. The tour showcases more than 60 locations from Friends, Will & Grace, Seinfeld, I Am Legend, Ugly Betty, Gossip Girl, Men in Black, The Devil Wears Prada and many more! You will be brought back to your hotel at the end of the tour.

If find yourself downtown hopping a boat ride out to Ellis and Liberty Islands, we recommend spending some time exploring the Battery Park area.  Stop by the New York Stock Exchange while strolling down bustling Wall Street. While in the Financial District, visit the Federal Reserve Bank of New York for a free tour. The tours include an introduction to the banking system of the United States and the role of "The Fed" in the U.S. economy, as well as a chance to visit the Gold Vault located five stories below street level. The building itself is impressive, combining detailed wrought ironwork with features from the Renaissance palaces of Florence.

Visit the 9-11 Memorial site and museum set to open in September 2011. The Memorial’s twin reflecting pools are each nearly an acre in size and feature the largest manmade waterfalls in the North America. The pools sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood. The names of every person who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks are inscribed into bronze panels edging the Memorial pools, a powerful reminder of the largest loss of life resulting from a foreign attack on American soil and the greatest single loss of rescue personnel in American history.

Speak to your Travel Consultant to arrange a shared or private tour of the Memorial site.
