Day 1
Toronto Toronto is a cosmopolitan city with a wonderful network of parks, recreational and cultural facilities. It is the largest city in Canada, with a population consisting of over 2.5 million people. Toronto is the home of seven professional sports teams and the third largest English-speaking theatre district in the world, behind New York and London. It is one of the world's most multicultural cities, home to more than 80 ethnic communities (half of people living in Toronto were born outside Canada). A dominant force in the business and economy of the nation, it is also the cultural centre of English-speaking Canada. Toronto is known as a city of neighborhoods. Districts are often centered one of the main streets (Queen, College, Bloor etc), and packed tightly together, with each having something different to offer each visitor. The relative compactness of these neighborhoods makes exploring on foot easy and pleasant, especially in the warmer months. Upon your arrival, make your way downtown to your home for the night, the legendary Fairmont Royal York Hotel. Includes daily car rental. Rate includes up to 200 kilometers per day. (Any additional charges will be applied to excess kilometers). From the jaw-dropping views at the CN Tower down the street to the roller-blade and bike paths of the Toronto islands, there is an endless array of local diversions. Dinner tonight will be on your own, but your concierge will have plenty of suggestions depending upon your culinary appetite. Babysitting services are available for the kids if you feel like hitting the town, but be sure to get a good night’s sleep before the fun begins tomorrow! Toronto is a city that has grown up around this grand landmark - The Fairmont Royal York Hotel (4*). It is just steps away from the hub of Toronto and a major access port to Canada is Union Station. If you're here to relax and take in the sights, this hotel has everything you need; luxurious surroundings, refined guest rooms and suites, and a knowledgeable Concierge are some of the services and amenities you will find while staying at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel. Overnight at Fairmont Royal York (4*). |

Day 2
Niagara-on-the-Lake Niagara-on-the-Lake is a quaint and beautiful little town on the shore of Lake Ontario at the mouth of the Niagara River. The town accentuates its British heritage, and features the only Lord Mayor in Canada. Its preserved turn of the century architecture make it a delightful walk around. The mild climate and excellent soil have turned the surrounding region into the wine capital of the country. Visitors flock to dozens of nearby wineries, including those making the world's largest volumes of ice wine. The town is also known for its gardens, art galleries, antique shops, and golf courses. Includes daily car rental. Rate includes up to 200 kilometers per day. (Any additional charges will be applied to excess kilometers). After breakfast, drive to Niagara-on-the-Lake. The drive is approximately 135 kms and should take just under two hours. Enjoy some free time in Niagara on the Lake to browse the shops and enjoy the quaint village. Niagara’s whitewater rapids have challenged explorers for over 300 years. Our specially designed Jet Boats offer an affordable fun way to reveal the history, scenery and incredible whitewater of the Niagara River. You can choose if you would prefer a dry or wet adventure; Soak it all up on one of the 'Wet Jet' boats. Experience the adrenaline rush as the waters from the Niagara river embrace you in an unforgettable tour. If getting absolutely soaking wet isn't for you, then the 'Jet Dome' is. See all the Niagara River has to offer while remaining dry on our 'Jet Dome' tour. Have fun on the jet-boat as you experience an adrenaline-fuelled close encounter with the spectacular Niagara Falls. This breathtaking boat ride (as seen on Amazing Race) speeds up the Niagara River into the massive stonewalled canyon that is the Niagara Gorge. The ultimate destination is the Devil’s Hole Rapids (a class 5 rapid) and the legendary Whirlpool, where you’ll veer around and hurdle white-water rapids. In Niagara Falls, put on your walking shoes and follow the two-mile loop through Niagara Falls State Park—across meadows, woodlands, and five small islands, each leading closer to the cascade. Continue to the Cave of the Winds, where you will don disposable plastic ponchos and sandals, then take an elevator down to a board walk that spans massive boulders as it takes you close to the Bridal Veil. At the end of the trail, board the Maid of the Mist ship and travel through the foaming waters, riding against the powerful current and into the magnificent Canadian Horseshoe Falls as you “soak” in the fun and excitement. Having exhausted the ways to experience the Falls (unless you opt for the helicopter fly-over experiences), you can either return to Niagara-on-the-Lake for some adult relaxation or pampering at the hotel, or you can check out the local wildlife, with a stop at the massive aviaries of the Bird Kingdom or a visit to the Killer Whale Show at Marineland. Dinner tonight is on your own, but if you’re looking for a cultural diversion, we recommend the Shaw Festival, a renowned repertory theatre, which presents plays created by George Bernard Shaw and his contemporaries in three wonderful theatres within walking distance of the hotel. Harbour House is a Cape Cod style boutique hotel on the Niagara River. The building’s 1880s maritime look is topped off with a cedar shingle roof, and the spacious rooms have cozy touches like electric fireplaces, feather-top beds, and Frette robes. The hotel is a harmonious blend of intimacy, quality, personality, professionalism, sensuous comfort, and attention to every detail. Overlooking the Niagara River, it is within easy walking distance of the Shaw Festival theatres and many fine restaurants, shops and galleries. Overnight at Harbour House. |

Wineries visited may include Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate Winery for a full tour revealing the latest in modern winemaking technology and a tasting of their premium wines; Marynissen Estates Winery, a small family boutique winery with Canada’s oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines; Lailey Vineyard, for a tasting of the exclusively estate-grown premium wines, with the winemaker; Strewn, producer of award winning premium VQA wines with Canada’s only winery cooking school and superb restaurant; Inniskillin Wines, one of the industry’s original pioneers, and producer of some of the world’s finest wines; Caroline Cellars for an opportunity to taste handcrafted icewines ; Dom Vagner, Canada’s smallest winery; and Reif Winery, which has a winemaking history dating back 360 years.
Finish off the ride along the Niagara River Recreational Trail as it winds through the quaint village of Queenston and the Niagara Escarpment, a World Biosphere Reserve. Enjoy time at leisure to explore at your own pace, or relax at your hotel. Experience the best in family-friendly night-time entertainment in Niagara Falls this evening! Depending on the date (and your interests), your choices range from interactive mystery walks to dinner show extravaganzas. Our current favorite is the mystery and art of illusion with Greg Frewin, one of the most decorated magicians in the world. His Las Vegas style dinner show features masterful illusions and spectacular appearances by tigers and other exotic animals (including a chance after the show to have photos taken with the tigers). Your Sales Consultant can let you know what is on during the time that you intend to be here. Overnight at Harbour House. |
