Day 1
Sliema Sliema is a city located on the northeast coast of Malta. It is a centre for shopping, restaurants and café life. Sliema is also a major commercial and residential area and houses several of Malta's most modern hotels. Sliema, which means 'peace, comfort', was once a quiet fishing village on the peninsula across Marsamxett Harbour from Valletta. The town began to develop rapidly in the early 20th century as a summer resort for wealthier Valletta residents. Meet your driver and English speaking assistant for an airport transfer. This evening spend time at leisure or relax at your hotel. The Palace Hotel Malta (5*) is a distinctly high class hotel within walking distance to all the main attractions of Sliema. This hotel is one of the best in Malta and will impress even the most discerning hotel guest. The professional, courteous and friendly hotel staff will be on hand to ensure that your stay remains an enjoyable and memorable experience. The guest rooms at the Palace Hotel are luxurious, spacious and fully facilitated with everything you would expect of a five star hotel. Many rooms have a balcony or roomy terrace to enjoy the spectacular view. Overnight at The Palace (5*). |

The city owes both its name and its fortifications to jean de la Valette, Grand Master of the Knights of St. John, who rebuilt the city after the Great Siege of 1565. After a morning at leisure you will go sightseeing in Valletta, visiting the Upper Barracca Gardens and two great buildings erected by the Knights of St. John`s, the Palace of the Grand Masters and St. John`s Co-Cathedral. You will be picked up and taken with a private vehicle and an English speaking guide to a local first class restaurant. Overnight at The Palace (5*). |
