Day 1
Venice In the rich cultures of Europe and celebrated cities of Italy, few places capture the imagination as much as Venice. Its fabled canalled thoroughfares and gilded palaces possess a beguiling beauty unsurpassed by anywhere else on Earth. Everywhere you go you'll find works of art - in the architecture itself or within the walls of the palaces and basilicas that are liberally sprinkled in every area of the city. Venice is an ever-changing, living canvas. No other place has such a mutable geography where you can discover delightfully peaceful piazzas and deserted canals seemingly unmarked on any map. Quite simply, there is nowhere else in the world quite like it. On arrival in Venice you will be met and transferred by a private motor launch and English speaking assistant to your accommodation on Venice Island. Our local representative will accompany you on the transfer and assist with your hotel check in. A welcome package with your vouchers, a city map, train tickets (if relevant) and any other touristic information that we deem you may find useful will be waiting for you upon your arrival at the first hotel on your trip. Sit back and relax on a marvellous and enchanting half an hour evening gondola ride through the Grand Canal and inner canals of Venice. You will breathe the atmosphere of this ancient city built on water. Your gondola will take you to the Restaurant da Raffaele, where you can enjoy typical traditional veneta and Italian plates. Departure from Santa Maria Del Giglio Gondola Station (next to Hotel Gritti) at 07.00 pm, arrival at restaurant around 7.30-07.40 pm. Day 5
Ljubljana Ljubljana is the largest city and capital of Slovenia. It is regarded as the cultural, scientific, economic, political and administrative center of the country. Its transport connections, concentration of industry, scientific and research institutions and industrial tradition are contributing factors to its leading economic position. Ljubljana has a strong Alpine feel to it and the architecture underlines this impression - there is also a touch of the Mediterranean (thanks to its geographical proximity). Ljubljana was devastated by earthquakes several times. After an earthquake in 1511, Ljubljana was rebuilt in the Renaissance style, and after an earthquake in 1895 severely damaged the city, the city was rebuilt in Neo-Classicist and Secession (Art Nouveau) styles. The city's Baroque architecture was mainly influenced by Italian Baroque architecture. Enjoy a private transfer from Portoroz to Ljubljana with car and driver (2.5 hrs) Enjoy a walking city tour of Ljublijana and see some of the most significant sights of the old city center such as the picturesque Central open-air market and the Three Bridges, both designed by famous architect Joze Plecnik, as well as the Baroque Town Hall and Robba's Fountain. Visit Ljubljana Castle and Virtual Museum. The Central Hotel is a smaller 4* hotel. Its unique location in the city centre gives it a special sense of practicality, simplicity and comfort. The Central Hotel is only a step away from the main bus and railway station and the sights of Ljubljana and the old city centre are accessible on foot. The hotel has 71 rooms and 3 suites. By the reception desk is an e-office and Franky’s bar. Overnight at Union Central (4*). |
