Explore the beautiful peninsula of the Amalfi coast in the comfort of your hired car with GPS. Popular since the Roman times when the well of heel escaped from the summer heat of Rome to the magnificent refuge of the Costiera Amalfitana, this area has managed to retain it's historical vestiges with cobble stoned streets, alleyways and palazzo's in the numerous small towns with an expanse of natural beauty along the rocky promontory with picture perfect land and seascapes. Meet up with your own private, English speaking Guide in both Sorrento and Pompeii, and enjoy a shared tour to the island of Capri on a speedboat, before having the rest of the day to explore the chic towns of Capri and Anacapri at leisure. Spend a day exploring, with great places to stop off along the way as you drive on some of the most scenic roads in Europe.
For those who want to get off the beaten path but need minimum hassle, our GPS tours offer worry free hotel bookings, public and private guided tours, local 24/7 emergency support, and a dedicated team of experts ready to customize to suit your needs. All our tours can be modified with value, premium, or luxury hotels and services. Please note that the GPS is not included in the price of the tour and must be paid locally for a small fee. Please let us know if you would like us to reserve a GPS unit for you. Child car seats and additional insurance is also available.
Optionally, drive to Rome at the end of your 3 days and add our Italy Signature tour spending 3 days in Rome and Florence and 2 days in Venice or spend 4 days in Sicily on our 4 Day Sicily Extension.

Day 1
Sorrento Surrounded by hills and shielded from the Mediterranean by perpendicular cliffs that plunge directly into the water, Sorrento is the centrepiece of the Amalfi Coast. The train station is steps away from the downtown with its cluster of hotels and restaurants. Sorrento is the most popular base to explore the Amalfi Coast with more budget options. It has a very good beach, and is the main port for the ferry to the island of Capri (a great day trip). It is also famous for limoncella, a sweet lemon liqueur made from the profusion of lemon trees growing up the steep cliffs along the entire coast. And of course, you must try the seafood cuisine. Enjoy a private transfer with your own private vehicle and driver between Naples train station and your accommodation in Sorrento or Positano. A welcome package with your vouchers, a city map, train tickets (if relevant) and any other touristic information that we deem you may find useful will be waiting for you upon your arrival at your first hotel on your trip. Enjoy a walking tour of Sorrento, one of Italy's premier resort towns since Roman times, with your own Private English speaking Guide. The town centre is accessible to pedestrians only, making an exploration of the town a delight! (No entrance fees inlcuded). Enjoy dinner at leisure in Sorrento.
