A visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar is a spiritual experience that is to last a lifetime. It is the holiest shrine of Sikh religion. The temple is famous not only for the unique legends associated with it but also for its superior beauty and intricate craftsmanship. Delhi is a city of dramatic contrasts, and is the most popular starting point for any tour of India. A tour to Old Delhi includes the Red Fort and the mosque of Jama Masjid with a stroll through the bazaars of Chandni Chowk ("Moonlit Square"). A New Delhi travel includes the Humayun's Tomb, in many ways the precursor of the Taj Mahal, the India Gate, a memorial dedicated to the unknown soldiers who laid their lives in the World War I, the President's House, and the Parliament House.

Day 2 Amritsar

Amritsar, meaning The Lake of the Holy Nectar, is located in the west of Punjab. It is home to the Harimandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple, and is the spiritual and cultural center of the Sikh religion. This important Sikh shrine attracts more visitors than the Taj Mahal in Agra and is the number one destination for non-resident Indians in the whole of India.

Day 3 Amritsar

The abode of Bliss and Blessings, Golden temple is the holiest of the shrines of Sikh religion. Guru Arjun Dev requested the great contemporary Muslim saint Mian Meer to lay the foundation stone of this shrine in January 1589, thus the building was completed in 1601 and the Holy Scripture of Sikhs Adi Granth was installed in Temple in 1604. Invaded by Afghan invaders thrice in 1757,1762, and 1764,the temple was re-built in its present form in 1776.

Day 4 Dharamshala

Dharamshala is a highly captivating town in the upper reaches of Kangra Valley. This headquarters of Kangra district is surrounded by dense coniferous forest. The town is divided into two three parts—the upper Dharamshala called McLeod Ganj, the middle Kotwali Bazar and the lower Kaccheri area.The town of McLeod Ganj in Upper Dharamshala is known worldwide for the teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama that take place here every year. It is also his residence and the headquarters of the Tibetan Government in exile, led by the Prime Minister, Samdhong Rinpoche. McLeod Ganj is also referred to as 'Upper Dharamshala'.  Dharamshala is the closest one can get to Tibet while still in India. This quaint hill station is home to His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, the spiritual and political head of the Tibetan Buddhists. Once a British hill station, Dharamshala received an influx of Tibetan refugees after the Chinese occupation of Tibet in 1959. Today, Dharamshala is a popular destination for Indian and foreign tourists, particularly those seeking spiritual salvation.

Day 5 Dharamshala

The snow clad Dhauladhar mountain ranges form the magnificent backdrop to Dharamshala. This principal township of Kangra district overlooks the vast spread of the plains. Attractive surroundings, numerous streams, cool healthy air and the snowline, makes Dharamshala a perfect holiday spot. It is full of life and yet peaceful. The headquarters of His Holiness the Dalai Lama is here. Dharamshala offers various sightseeings to the tourist visiting here. Kangra Art Museum at Kotwali Bazar with its gallery of Kangra’s famous miniature paintings also has a representative collection of artifacts from the area including sculptures, pottery and anthropological items. The War Memorial is full of landscaped lawns and narrow paths filling a pine grove. St. Johns Church is a memorial erected over tomb of Lord Elgin the British Viceroy, who died at Dharamshala in 1863. McLeod Ganj is the residence of His Holiness Dalai Lama. This Tibetan government-in-exile has been here now for over three decades.

Pragpur is a heritage village located in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. This village is located in the Kangra region, and you can easily explore the valley through visiting Pragpur. The village of Pragpur is a place of high historical, cultural and religious importance. There are many places that you can visit in the village of Pragpur, and the Taal is the most popular tourist hotspot. The Taal is a pond located in the centre of the village. The entire village has been constructed around the lake. There are many other heritage structures around the Taal, and these are the Radha Krishna Mandir, Naun and Nehar Bhawan.

Day 9 Shimla

Shimla is in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. In 1864, Shimla was declared the summer capital of the British Raj. A popular tourist destination, the city is often referred to as the "Queen of Hills". Located in north-west Himalayas at an altitude of 2,130 metres (6,988 ft), the city of Shimla, draped in forests of pine, rhododendron, and oak, experiences pleasant summers and cold, snowy winters. The city is famous for its buildings styled in tudorbethan and neo-gothic architecture reminiscent of the colonial era. Shimla is connected to the city of Kalka by one of the longest narrow gauge railway routes in India.

The Shimla Toy Train is a galvanizing experience as one passes through the breathtaking landscapes of majestic Himalayas, tunnels/ bridges and lush green valleys embellished with pine, oak trees, leaving a long lasting memory of rhapsody and triumph. The train is one of the most unique railway tracks in the world. It is said that this railway line has been first sketched in November 1847, almost 50 years before it was actually constructed. This magnificent train was inaugurated by the British viceroy, Lord Curzon in November 1903, almost covering the distance of 96 km from Kalka through the curving tracks, up to Shimla hills- the summer capital of colonial India. The toy train trek from Kalka to Shimla is adorned with resplendent panorama of the valley and the picturesque stations along the way. The train passes through 103 tunnels, 969 bridges, 919 curves and 20 railway stations in its entire journey.

  • Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $250). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order.

  • Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
