Day 1
Tel Aviv Tel Aviv is an exciting city offering commerce, culture, nightlife and sandy beaches. The Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra draws audiences from all over the world. The Museum of the Diaspora is internationally famous. The bustling Carmel Market is a popular place to visit. In 1950, Jaffa was united with Tel Aviv; situated a mile from the city, this is one of the oldest ports in the world. It has archaeological finds reaching back to the third century BC, a beach, lively nightlife in Old Jaffa and a flea market. A private vehicle will provide a transfer between Tel Aviv and the airport. Enjoy dinner at one of Tel Aviv's finest dining establishments, Rafael's Restaurant. Day 2
Tel Aviv Begin the tour with a visit to Old Jaffa, an area some 4,000 years old, this port city of Jaffa served Egyptian and Phoenician sailors during antiquity. Christian legend has it that Jaffa was named after Noah’s son Japhet, whom was believe to have built it after the great flood. Next, enjoy a walking tour of Neve Tzedek. These beautifully restored houses and streets preserve the romance of the early days of Jewish urban settlement. The neighborhood was nicknamed "Little Paris" because of its eye-opening architectural innovations. Today, the most outstanding site is the Suzanne Delal Centre, a bustling dance and theater complex. In July, 2003, UNESCO proclaimed the "White City" as a World Cultural Heritage site. Walk along Rothschild Boulevard to view the architectural styles of the 1930s – most notably the International, or Bauhaus, style, telling the story of Tel Aviv from its early years unitl today. Day 3
Galilee Galilee and the North - Lake Tiberias (the Sea of Galilee) itself, Nazareth, the Bet She’arim Catacombs, Megiddo, Tiberias and the Mount of Beatitudes. Bethlehem - located 10km (6.2 miles) south of Jerusalem, it is most famous for being the birthplace of Christ, although it is also well known for olive woodcarving and mother-of-pearl jewelry, which, today, has developed into a modern industry. Jericho - dates back more than 10,000 years and is one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited sites. Known as the ‘City of Palms’, the walls and towers of Jericho are 4000 years older than the pyramids of Egypt, and the domestication of animals took place 1000 years earlier in Jericho than in Mesopotamia and Egypt. After breakfast at the hotel, a private vehicle with driver will provide a transfer to the Margalit Award Winning Winery for a special tour. From here, the driver makes route along the picturesque Mediterranean shore line to Caesarea. Here, view all the famous sites of Caesarea including the theater, water aqueduct and the hippodrome. The journey continues to the port city of Haifa, beginning with a climb up Mount Carmel for some magnificent viewings of the Hanging Bahai Gardens. From here, a visit to the Tulip Winery, located in a nearby little village is scheduled. Enjoy lunch and wine tasting, along with some brief explanations of the unique work done in this location. A return transfer, via the Valley of Jezreel, to the Sea of Galilee is provided. Lunch at leisure (not included in tour price). Day 4
Galilee In the morning, a private vehicle with driver will depart the hotel and begin driving north to the Mount of Beatitude for a visit. From here, continue to the Banias Spring, one of the main water sources of Jordan River, before beginning a short, enjoyable to the nearby falls. Next, ascend the Golan Heights to visit the Olive Oil Mill where a brief informative session is followed by some Olive Oil testing and a delicious traditional lunch. After lunch, visit the Golan's highest elevated winery, for a special VIP tour and wine tasting. Upon descending the Golan Heights, a visit to Tabgha is planned, a location known for its wide spectra of flora and fauna. This is also said to be the site of a miracle, where the Christian Saviour, Jesus, fed some 5000 starving people with 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread. From here, a visit to Capernaum is scheduled; a truly historical site where recently a 2nd century synagogue was discovered. A quick stop at the hotel is next before driving out to the Chateau Golan Winery located in the south part of Golan Heights for wine tasting and exclusive private *dinner at the winery's cellar. Day 5
Galilee After breakfast at the hotel, depart for a visit to Cana of Galilee, which is the famous location where Jesus performed the Miracle of the Wine. From here, it’s off to Nazareth for some brief sightseeing before continuing to the World Heritage Site of Acre. This unique city boasts all the characteristic of a fortified town, and dates back to the Ottoman period of the18th and 19th centuries. The remains of the Crusader town of Acre, both above and below the present-day street level, provide an exceptional blueprint of the once capital of the medieval Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem. This tour continues with a visit to the Crusaders Halls and Al Jazar Mosque. After lunch, ascend into Upper Galilee to visit Galilee Mountain Winery, located in Kibbutz Yiron for some brief wine tasting. Upon completion a return transfer is provided. Day 6
Dead Sea The Dead Sea is an inland lake lying 400m (1320ft) below sea level in the lower part of the Jordan Valley, it has more minerals and salt than any other body of water in the world and is renowned for its rejuvenating and health-giving properties. Other interesting sights around the Dead Sea include Mount Sodom, a 13km- (8 mile-) long mountain range made up of pure salt which has many caves with extraordinary hanging salt formations, and Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls, written by Essene scribes, were discovered in ancient pottery jars. Masada (Mezada) - is on the left bank of the Dead Sea on a clifftop, where the once luxurious palace of King Herod still stands (and site of the famous seige). It can be reached by cable car or a winding footpath and there is a breathtaking view of the Dead Sea and the pink mountains of Moab from here. In the morning a private vehicle with driver will provide a transfer to the Sea of Galilee for a relaxing boat ride. After the boat trip, continue south for a visit to Beit Shean to see some well preserved the Roman ruins. Next it's onto a nearby Herb Farm in Moshav, SDE Trumot, for a visit and introductory session on the very special and unique methods used in modern Israeli agriculture. Travel along the Jordanian Valley to Jericho, stopping for some spectacular panoramic viewing, before making route to Qumran, the place where the famed Dead Sea Scrolls where hidden by the ancients. While in Qumran, enjoy the visitor's center, the Essene farm and Qumran caves, which is where the actual Dead Sea Scrolls were found. A return transfer to the hotel is provided. Day 7
Dead Sea After breakfast at hotel, depart for a full day of touring around the Dead Sea. The barren landscapes of Masada are best known for being the location of King Herod's desert mountain get-away palace, as well as the site of the Zealots' last stand against the Roman Legionnaires. Head back to the hotel for lunch, with some time allotted for leisurely activities including a swim & float in the Dead Sea or use of the Hotel's spa facilities. In the afternoon, travel to Arad, for a visit to Yatir Winery. Here, learn all about how grapes are grown in the Judean Desert, and some details about the fermentation process. Day 8
Jerusalem Jerusalem for Christians, Jews and Muslims, is one of the most revered cities on earth. Attractions range from religious emblems and relics of antiquity to modern items of interest. Religious tours are available from West Jerusalem and include Mount Zion and the Tomb of David. Other sites are the Tomb of Judges; Yad Vashem, the memorial to the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust; and Mea Shearim (‘the hundred gates’). Visitors in East Jerusalem may follow the Way of the Cross, enter the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and see the Wailing Wall, the Dome of the Rock and the Jaffa and Damascus gates. The Israel Museum in Jerusalem houses the Dead Sea Scrolls and is worth visiting. After breakfast, travel in a privately driven vehicle from the Dead Sea to Jerusalem for a full day of touring. Upon arrival into the old city of Jerusalem, travel through the Dung Gate, to enter the Temple Mount. The Dome of the Rock and El Aksa Mosques are considered as the holiest place in the region for both Jews and Muslims. Next, visit the Western Wall, and take a stroll through the interior wall tunnels, showcasing what this passage way would have looked like during the time of the Romans. This area once held a temple as well, until its destruction in the year 70 CE. From the old city, it off to the new city of Jerusalem to visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial Museum. Only a short drive away, visit the Flam Winery in Eshtaul valley, for a breif informative tour. The Flam boutique winery is renowned for its Cabernet Sauvignon, which has won numerous awards worldwide. Enjoy some Moroccan cuisine at Darna Restaurant in Jerusalem. Day 9
Jerusalem After breakfast, travel in a privately driven vehicle to the Mount of Olives, for some perfect panoramic viewing of Jerusalem. This spectacular location boasts views of the old city, the olive tree canopies, and a number of cemeteries and churches which commemorate and highlight the events from the life of Jesus. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane which contains some of the most ancient olive trees of the region, believed to date back to the times of Christ. From here, proceed to the archaeological site of the City of David and Hezekiah Tunnel for some brief exploration. Walk along the Via Dolorosa (Stations of the Cross) to visit Church of Holy Sepulcher. Continue on this historical walk through the Jewish Quarter and the Cardo to Mount Zion for a visit to the famous Last Supper Room and King David's Tomb.
