Day 1
Portland Portland is the largest city in Oregon. Although it is a very urban city, there are many lush parks with a variety of plants, trails, and wildlife in the hills west of Downtown. Progressive city planning practices, such as an urban growth boundary, have made Portland a very compact and user-friendly city. Portland is the microbrewery capital of the world, many of which have won nationwide and international acclaim. It is a very outdoors-oriented city and there are a wide variety of active adventures both in the city and surrounding area. Meet your driver for a private airport transfer. Experience Portland from a beer-lover’s perspective. Portland is home to 32 breweries within the city limits – 38 if you consider the entire metro area. That’s more than any other city on Earth!!! Sample stouts, ambers, ales and other handcrafted beer at selected breweries in the city. Learn about the past and present brewing industry in the Pacific Northwest. Sightseeing through Portland’s downtown area, vibrant neighborhoods and scenic bridges in comfortable vehicles and leave the driving to your engaging guide. All of the breweries you visit are “micro” or “craft” breweries, producing less than 20,000 barrels per year. We will highlight several local breweries on your tour, learning about the beer-brewing craft. You will also visit one of Portland’s most alluring attractions – it’s majestic bridges. Throughout the afternoon your experienced guides will provide interpretation of the natural and cultural history of Portland. Return to hotel, snacks and tasting fees included in the price. Hotel Modera (4*) is located in the center of Portland, Oregon’s trendy Downtown district. Modera Hotel is encircled on all sides by art galleries, fine restaurants, museums, entertainment, and nightlife.
