Bonifacio is a commune and port at the southern tip of the island of Corsica, France. It is located directly on the Mediterranean Sea, separated from Sardinia by the Strait of Bonifacio. The city of Bonifacio is split into two sections. The vieille ville (old town), or la Haute Ville (the Upper city), on the site of a citadel, is located on the promontory overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The citadel was built in the 9th century with the foundation of the city. The city and its fortifications also extend for some distance along the cliff-tops, which are at about 70m in elevation. The cliffs have been undercut by the ocean so that the buildings, which have been placed on the very lip of the precipice, appear to overhang it.

Elba is a Mediterranean island in Tuscany, Italy. The largest island of the Tuscan Archipelago, Elba is also part of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago. It is located in the Tyrrhenian Sea, about 50km east of the French island of Corsica. Internationally, Elba is best known for its connection to Napoleon Bonaparte, exiled to the island after a forced abdication in 1814. More recently, the island has become famed for its wine, and it is today a renowned tourist resort.

Porto Venere is a town and port located on the Ligurian coast of Italy in the province of La Spezia. It comprises the three villages of Fezzano, Le Grazie and Porto Venere, and the three islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto. In 1997 Porto Venere and the villages of Cinque Terre were designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The 12th century Doria Castle and Gothic church of St. Peter are of the city's main sights.

Portofino is a small Italian fishing village, located in the province of Genoa on the Italian Riviera. The town crowded around its small harbour is considered to be among the most beautiful Mediterranean ports. A few minutes up the coast is Paraggi Beach, which is closely associated with the village.

The Port of Monte Carlo is a favorite port of call for many cruise visitors to the Mediterranean. The city is widely known for the Monte Carlo Casino and its international prominence. Monte Carlo is one of Europe's leading tourist resorts, although many of the key tourist destinations are located in other parts of Monaco, which can be visited during a shore excursion. These include such attractions as Monaco Cathedral, the Napoleon Museum, the Oceanographic Museum and aquarium, and the Prince's Palace, all of which are located in Monaco-Ville.
