Itinerary

Day 1 Waikiki

Waikiki is a neighborhood of Honolulu, in the City and County of Honolulu, on the south shore of the island of Oahu, in Hawaii. Waikiki Beach is the shoreline fronting Waikiki.  Waikiki is home to public places including Kapiolani Park, Fort de Russy Military Reservation, Kahanamoku Lagoon, Kuhio Beach Park, and Ala Wai Harbor.  The neighborhood extends from the Ala Wai Canal (a channel dug to drain former wetlands) on the west and north, to Diamond Head (Leahi) on the east. Waikiki Beach is noted for its views of the Diamond Head tuff cone, its usually warm and cloud-free climate and its surf break. The Waikiki skyline is now dotted with an abundance of both high-rises and resort hotels. The beach is actually fairly short, with half of it marked off for surfers. For some distance into the ocean the water is quite shallow, although there are numerous rocks on the bottom. As with most ocean beaches the waves can have some force, particularly on windy days. The surf at Waikiki is known for its long rolling break, making it ideal for long boarding, tandem surfing and beginners.

Meet your driver for a private transfer to Honolulu International Airport.

Situated steps from the Waikiki Beach, the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel (4*) offers luxury and comfort on the Island of Oahu. The hotel has 601 guestrooms and the interiors include exotic woods and Hawaiian-print accents, 42-inch plasma HDTV multimedia monitors, premium mattresses and bedding. Facilities include complimentary access to the hotel's fully equipped Precor® by Hilton fitness center, a spacious sundeck which includes a pool bar, Jacuzzi, and heated outdoor swimming pool. High-speed Internet in guestrooms is available for a small fee and complimentary wireless Internet access in the lobby, public areas & pool deck.

Don't forget to bring your camera to capture one of O’ahu’s most scenic vistas over Windward O’ahu at Nu’uanu Pali Lookout. Visit Byodo-In Temple (admission included) set amidst a picturesque mountain backdrop (admission included). Visit the Kualoa ranch to learn about its history and legends where you will take a scenic tram ride and drive into the Ko’olau Mountains to a spectacular lookout overlooking Chinaman’s Hat and Kaneohe Bay. Most Downtown Hilo stores are located along the "Bayfront", or Kamehameha Avenue. Many of the activities that are available are strictly daytime, and focus on the ocean. Kauai, the "Garden Isle," is home to several natural wonders, such as the Wailua River, Waimea Canyon, and the Na Pali Coast. Mount Waialeale is known as one of the rainiest spots in the world. Po`ipu, on the south side, is the major visitor destination for the island, with abundant sun and much resort development. Most of the major hotel/resort chains, such as Hyatt, Hilton, and Sheraton, have their main Kauai resorts in Po`ipu. Lihu`e, on the island's southeast side, is the civic and commercial center of the island, host to the island's main airport, county offices, and largest shopping mall (Kukui Grove Center). Kapa`a, on the east side, about a 20 minute drive north of Lihu`e, is the largest population center on the island. It anchors what is known as the Coconut Coast.
